It's hard to determine what this little girl is thinking about.  Is she unhappy, trying to figure out a puzzle, troubled by a problem, hurting  from an unkind word spoken to her, or just daydreaming?  Did you notice her?

Most importantly, is your child able to come to you with her thoughts?  Do you take time to listen or brush her off because your attention is elsewhere?  Communicating with your child is very important even if you consider it to be trivia.   To her, it is meaningful.

A child will always gravitate to the person who cares enough to listen.  Perhaps she just needs a hug.
